Well, I have finally gotten around to finishing up this Master’s Degree! It is amazing to say the least how fast it went by, and it is crazy to think about what I’ll be doing with my life now that I’m not in school. Certainly I do intend to go back to academia when I have taken a bit of a break and lived life in the city of Chicago. I’m quite tired and really just want to experience the world for a bit. Which will then hopefully lead to some wonderful collaborations and opportunities in the near future! Currently I am working on some projects as well as beginning to plan a solo piano recital in the fall, in which I will be presenting many new works of music by fellow composers. Very exciting, as the works will all be quite eclectic! More to come as I plan it out!
I have recently uploaded a new work of mine onto Soundcloud called Pierrot. I know there has been so much done on the subject, but these poems by Sara Teasdale really spoke to me and it was a great opportunity to give my own go at it, while also shaping it to work for the personalities of Matt Peckham and Stephen Uhl, who were the performers who requested I write them this piece. Bit of a run on sentence, but you get it. Please give them a listen to as this was a lot of fun to work with them on, and they REALLY turned out fantastic! I can’t be thankful enough to have such talented musicians to work with.
