So it’s been a little while from my last update. I recently performed a solo recital of all newly commissioned works by composer friends of mine. To say the least it went very well and was a success! There was a lot of positive feedback and people were into the idea of talking with the composers before I presented their work. I plan on continuing this series at least 2 more times, and am in the start of planning my next set! More on that will come later.
I have a few premieres of new works coming up this October and wanted to share these!
On Oct. 17 for Open House Chicago my solo bass work Restructured Possibilities will be premiered at the Nichols Tower on the top floor. Scott Dickinson from Ursa Ensemble will be tackling the work, and I can guarantee it’s going to be pretty metal. I’ll post a time when it is set!
On Oct. 23, Lakeshore Rush will be premiering my miniature toy pieces Isolated Houses downtown at the New Music School at 8 p.m. Very excited about these works as they were written for the “mini” instrumentation of the group, that being : mini violin, mini cello, toy piano, piccolo, Eb clarinet, and glockenspiel. If you’re looking for more toy instruments in your life, this is the concert to attend.
